CWLA and other national and state groups signed a letter calling on the President to make permanent the improvements to the Child Tax Credit (CTC), Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC). The American Rescue Plan (ARP) includes significant, but temporary, improvements to the CTC, the EITC and the CDCTC that will help to reduce child poverty dramatically in the near-term, benefit those who have been left behind and overlooked, provide additional support for rising child care costs, and begin to address some of the racial inequities in our tax code.

As the President designs a recovery plan to “build back better,” it is a pivotal moment to build off this momentum and make these tax policy changes permanent.  Please join us in urging President Biden and Vice President Harris to take bold action and make these tax credit improvements permanent to ensure they are available for those who most need them now and in the future. These tax policy changes will move us toward establishing a child benefit program that would go a long way to addressing the crisis of child poverty.

The deadline to sign is Tuesday, March 30, 2021. Both national and state organizations can sign the letter. Click here to sign the letter
