Last week, the American Youth Policy Forum unveiled a new web-based resource center called Understanding Foster, Juvenile Justice, and Crossover Youth. The site is part of an effort to educate policy-makers on the needs of foster care, juvenile justice, and crossover youth. The hope is that it will serve as a quick, easy-to-read overview of these populations and the barriers they face. The resource, which draws upon national, state, and local research and data, provides snapshots of the education and workforce outcomes of these populations and explores the challenges they face. It will also be a location for other related advocacy groups and organizations to access and share resources and information. The related blog series focuses on this resource and some of the key elements from promising programs in support of pathways to postsecondary education and the workforce for these populations.
