In relation to the President’s request for greater funding in some child welfare services, organizations still have an opportunity to join over 100 organizations in support of the budget proposals. A number of groups led by First Focus Campaign for Children, the Child Welfare League of America, Children’s Defense Fund (CDF), Foster Family-based Treatment Association (FFTA), Generations United (GU), the National Foster Care Coalition, and Voice for Adoption (VFA) are circulating an advocacy sign-on letter urging support for the Administration’s FY 2016 child welfare budget proposals that include the expansion of candidate foster care services (similar to Wyden proposal) and the coordination of funding for better planning between state child welfare and Medicaid agencies. The FY 2016 budget proposals would provide new federal investments on the front-end of the child welfare service delivery system to prevent removals and foster care and provide funding to support post-placement services. The deadline for the letter is TODAY–Monday, May 18th. Click here to sign on.
