The Act 4 JJ Campaign is circulating a letter to Congress urging members to protect children and youth in the justice system and pass the federal juvenile justice bill —Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention Act (JJDPA). The law has not been reauthorized since 2002. JJDPA supports efforts across the nation and helps young lives and communities to thrive. The coalition is working to convince Congress to invest in prevention and intervention strategies that work for at-risk children and youth.
The letter, circulated by Act 4 JJ Campaign, includes funding stories and is open to national and local organizations to sign-onto. Both the House and the Senate have passed measures to reauthorize JJDPA and now are reconciling the differences. We need to tell Congress our kids can’t wait any longer.
