Last week House Democrats announced appointments to various committees including some of the most coveted on the House Ways and Means Committee. Democrats have nothing but additions because of turnover and especially because they go from minority to majority. The ten new members to the Ways and Means Committee are:

Don Beyer (VA), Gwen Moore (WI), Steven Horsford (NV), Stephanie Murphy (FL), Brad Schneider (IL), Jimmy Panetta (CA), Brendan Boyle (PA), Dwight Evans (PA), Dan Kildee (MI), and Thomas Suozzi (NY).

The important Energy and Commerce Committee which has oversight of Medicaid and some of health care includes eight new members:

Nanette Barragan (CA), Robin Kelly (IL), Marc Veasey (TX), Tom O’Halleran (AZ), Darren Soto (FL), Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE), Ann McLane Kuster (NH), and Don McEachin (VA).

The House Appropriations Committee includes seven new members:

Norma Torres (CA), Ed Case (HI), Brenda Lawrence (MI), Cheri Bustos (IL), Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ), Charlie Crist (FL), and Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ).
