HHS has announced that they are soliciting applications for Regional Partnership Grants (RPGs), which fund collaborations among child welfare agencies, substance abuse agencies, courts, and other community partners to improve the well-being of children affected by family substance use.

This solicitation covers new funds that were included under the 2018 appropriations bill. These RPGs have been funded out of $20 million written into the Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) Title IV-B program annually. This year (FY 2018) appropriators added an additional $20 million through the annual budget. It is intended as a way to increase these funds before the Family First Act comes on line and as a way to help address the increasing needs created by the latest drug epidemic—opioids.
