On April 18, 2023, the White House released a statement outlining a new executive order to expand and improve the care economy. The order includes directives to officials to increase the accessibility and affordability of child care, improve veteran care, support early educators and care staff, and much more. The Biden Administration, through the American Rescue Plan, has invested over $60 billion dollars into the care economy, with almost $40 million going towards child care. Biden’s proposed budget for FY24 includes a ten-year investment of $600 billion to continue expanding upon the American Rescue Plan’s initial childcare investment.

First Five Years Fund and National Head Start Association released statements in support of President Biden’s actions.
