Last week the Democrats announced their members of the key Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources when they announced that longtime child welfare advocate Congressman Danny Davis (D-IL) will serve as Ranking Member.  He will be joined by the previous Ranking Member Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) and newcomers to the subcommittee Congresswoman Linda Sanchez (D-CA) and Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL).  The week before Republicans named their assignments with a new Chair.  Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) will replace Congressman Vern Buchanan (R-FL) who has left the subcommittee altogether to take over the Oversight Subcommittee.  Joining Smith on the Human Resources Subcommittee are Representative Jason Smith (R-MO), Representative Jackie Walorski (R-IN), Representative Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), Representative Dave Reichert (R-WA), Representative Tom Reed (R-NY), and Representative Tom Rice (R-SC).  Congressman Reed is a veteran of the subcommittee while Congressman Reichert is returning and who was the chair of the subcommittee earlier.
