National Child Abuse Prevention Month recognizes the importance of families and communities working together to strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Through this collaboration, prevention services and supports help protect children and produce thriving families.

This year’s theme, “Thriving Children and Families: Prevention With Purpose,” emphasizes preventing child abuse by recognizing our collective responsibility to support all families and help them to achieve positive outcomes. The focus is on promoting protective factors and building parental capacities.
