Grants Available for Programs Serving Out-of-Home LGBTQ Youth

8/6/2008:   Tides announces a new funding opportunity supported by its Out-of-Home Youth Fund (OHYF). The OHYF Strategic Opportunity Grants Program will provide the out-of-home youth field with short-term, small grants (max. $5,000) for opportunities that will increase the visibility of LGBTQ out-of-home youth issues, support new collaborations and learning opportunities, and provide much-needed technical assistance and capacity building resources to organizations in the field.

Tides funded the first round of grants this summer and will review a second round of applications for funding this fall. Applications are due September 1, 2008.

The Strategic Opportunity Grants Program is designed to promote networking, convening of potential collaborative partners, increased visibility and communications/media efforts, skills and leadership trainings, regional and statewide strategy sessions, sharing of best and promising practices, peer-to-peer consulting, and technical assistance/capacity building.
