Children 2008: A Call for Action--Leading the Nation for Children and Families, will be held February 25-27 at the beautiful and newly renovated Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. This year's program was developed by a planning committee that included 12 of our agency executive colleagues from across the country and includes:
  • speakers such as author and former foster child Ashley Rhodes-Courter, entrepreneur Stedman Graham, and "Homeless to Harvard" author Liz Murray;
  • representatives from both the Democratic and Republican parties participating in Advocacy Day, which also includes expanded afternoon offerings;
  • 36 workshops, 8 Wednesday Super Sessions, and a revamped Leadership Encounter for executive and emerging leaders;
  • a 70-booth exhibit hall with food, prize giveaways, and poster sessions;
  • musical performances by rising country star Ashley Gearing and Broadway Dreamgirl Julia Nixon;
  • Fun Night with your choice of movies, karaoke, or a nighttime tour of DC;
Come early for the COA preconference training and a FREE preconference institute on Streamlining a Public-Private Partnership, and stay late for the International Roundtable for PRIDE Program Users.
