Case Foundation Looking for Passionate Individuals with Great Ideas

6/27/2007:   This week the Case Foundation is launching the new Make It Your Own awards to empower people of all backgrounds to take charge of their communities. Passionate individuals from all walks of life--the 50 states, District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico included--are invited to submit ideas for how to make communities healthier, cleaner, safer, and better.

The top 100 finalists will get $200 to jump-start their ideas. Twenty finalists will receive $10,000 to make their ideas a reality. The final four will be chosen online by the general public and will receive an additional $25,000 for their projects. Everyone who applies will receive a 12-month subscription to GOOD magazine and online tools to help them share their ideas with others and raise funds.

Brief applications are being accepted online June 26-August 8. A diverse group of people from different backgrounds and communities are being asked to review all applicants and select the top 100. These top 100 will be invited to pitch their ideas as a full proposal in early October. For more information, contact Kristen Cambell at kristenc@casefoundation.org or 202/467-5788.
