Scholarship Applications Being Accepted for Current, Former Foster Youth

2/21/2007:   Both the National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) and the Orphan Foundation of America (OFA) are offering scholarships in 2007 for youth in foster care or adopted from foster care, and the deadline for applications is fast approaching.

The NFPA scholarships are for foster youth pursuing higher education, vocational and job training, or correspondence courses, including the GED. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school. The application deadline is March 31, and applicants will be notified of the status of their application on or before May 31. Visit NFPA online for more information and to download an application form.

The OFA scholarship applications are available on OFA's website through March 31, and awards will be announced in mid-June 2007. Applicants must have already been accepted into or enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program and be under the age of 25 on March 31, 2007.
