Learn the Facts About Quality Public Schools

9/20/2006:   Nine in every 10 U.S. kids attend public schools. Some schools are great, but others set low expectations and struggle to provide the basic resources students need to succeed.

Give Kids Good Schools is a national campaign to guarantee a quality public education for every child in the country. A project of the public education network and a growing coalition of national and local partners, the campaign seeks to provide Americans with the information and tools they need to take action in their communities to improve their public schools.

The Give Kids Good Schools website contains a wealth of resources and facts about public schools, including
  • a publication about what makes a quality public school,
  • facts about public schools,
  • an action guide for parents and community leaders on using the No Child Left Behind Act to improve student achievement,
  • top 10 questions to ask elected officials on critical issues that impact public education, and
  • the chance for people to share stories about how their public schools have engaged parents and the community.
