Teleconference Highlights Legislative and Policy Activities Related to Meth Problem

1/17/2006:   CWLA is sponsoring a teleconference this Thursday, Jan. 19, 2-3:30 p.m. (EST), to highlight current and potential state and federal legislative and policy activities related to methamphetamines. Specifically, a representative of the Congressional Caucus to Fight and Control Methamphetamine will speak about how the nation's policymakers have begun to increase their focus and their desire to act on legislative and policy solutions to this growing problem.

This week's teleconference is the final session in a five-part series on the effects of methamphetamine manufacture and use on the child welfare system, and the creative responses of states and communities. CWLA's ongoing Competence on Call teleconference series provides a forum to consider critical child welfare issues, disseminate research findings, and inform the field about innovative policy and practice initiatives.
