Website Offers a Wealth of Resources on Starting a Community Playground Project

9/22/2005:   Are the children in your community in need of adequate play space? If you know of a community playground that is in dire need of a renovation, or you are aware of a community that simply lacks a playground of any kind, www.kaboom.org could provide the resources you are looking for.

KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit organization that envisions a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. Since 1995, KaBOOM! has facilitated the construction of nearly 850 playgrounds and skate parks, and renovated 1,300 playgrounds and three athletic fields across the nation.

On their website, KaBOOM! has compiled a wealth of resources for communities on how to begin planning a new or renovated play space, including an online project planning service that provides practical advice, cost-cutting tips, checklists, and timelines.
