CWLA's eBay Adoption Awareness Auction11/8/2004: Each year, November is recognized as National Adoption Awareness Month. The particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care. Of the 542,000 children in foster care as of March 2003, approximately 126,000 children were waiting to be adopted. These children and teens live every day with the knowledge that they do not yet have parents and homes to call their own.
In order to find a solution to this growing problem, the Child Welfare League of America will be partnering with eBay, MissionFish, and nearly 15 member agencies to host an online charity auction to raise dollars and awareness for children and families whose lives have been impacted by adoption.
The auction kicks off today, November 8, at 12:00 p.m. EST, and will close at 12:00 p.m. EST on November 15.
