Celebrate National Family Week, November 21-27, 2004

11/1/2004:   Strong families are at the center of strong communities. That's why Connections Count is the theme of the 36th annual National Family Week, organized by the Alliance for Children and Families and hosted by groups nationwide.

National Family Week: Connections Count embraces the premise that children live better lives when their families are strong, and families are strong when they live in communities that connect them to economic opportunities, social networks, and services.

At www.nationalfamilyweek.org, you can learn more about National Family Week and obtain helpful hints for making Connections Count, including
  • tips for extending and enhancing family connections and about how neighborhood organizations, businesses, nonprofits, and policymakers can make a difference;

  • details about local events and activities taking place across the country during National Family Week; and

  • online and offline links to organizations that offer year-round support and services designed to strengthen families
New to this year’s campaign is the Family Salute page, where visitors can post a message of support and thanks to military personnel and their families.
