Generations United Grants Available

4/22/2004:   Generations United (GU)—an organization focused on the bond between children and older adults and the special needs of each group—is once again working on an outreach campaign for the PBS miniseries American Family: Journey of Dreams. As a part of its work, GU will award $500 grants to groups planning intergenerational projects related to the television series.

Projects should focus on the transfer of rich cultural traditions and family stories between the generations. Projects can include, but are not limited to, grandparent's days, family events, screenings/discussions, oral histories, and community quilts. For more details on proposal requirements, visit www.gu.org/news.htm.

Proposals are due next Friday, April 30. Submit the completed application form to Generations United by mail, fax, or e-mail. For application materials, contact gu@gu.org or call 202/289-3979.
