Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

9/4/2003:   Prudential Financial Corporation and the National Association of Secondary School Principals are accepting nominations for the 2004 Spirit of Community Awards to honor middle and high school students who have given back to their communities. If you know of a youth who has worked to help those less fortunate, promote health and safety, protect the environment, or volunteered for other community projects, encourage that young person to apply in the coming weeks. Students must submit applications by October 31, when schools and other participating organizations will select the top candidates to advance to the next round. Two candidates from each state, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico will receive $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington for the final selections and the awarding of additional prizes. Application materials are being mailed to schools and designated community organizations in September, and are also available at www.prudential.com/spirit or by calling 888/450-9961.
