Join Hands Day 2003

4/23/2003:   On June 21 communities across America will come together for Join Hands Day, a national event that unites young people and adults to make their neighborhoods better. CWLA's Intergenerational Services Program encourages you and your agency to join in the activities.

Join Hands Day promotes youth and adults working together on an equal basis to plan, organize, and implement volunteering activities in their communities. Volunteer teams will repair playground equipment, help seniors, remove trash from streets, and perform many more projects.

The Join Hands Day website has a Quick Start sheet to get you started, an Action Planning Guide, and many other resources to help you plan a successful project. Also, learn about how you can win a $1,000 cash award for your project by visiting their website or calling 877/OUR-1DAY. To locate a volunteer center near you, visit www.pointsoflight.org or call 800/VOLUNTEER. For more information, visit www.connectamerica.org. Join Hands America is sponsored by the America's Fraternal Benefit Societies in partnership with the Points of Light Foundation.
