Child Welfare Teaming: What Is It?
Massachusetts DSS developed the following definition for its child welfare teaming effort:
A child welfare team is a small group of social workers and a supervisor who have developed a shared common purpose and approach to working with families. They are mutually responsible for the team's process and tasks. They have complementary social work skills and child welfare protective capacities content expertise they willingly share with each other to accomplish discrete work outcomes and interventions.
