Differences in Supervising a Team versus Individuals

  • The dynamic changes from one-to-one decision making, to group decision making.

  • Supervisors must give up some of their power and control and trust team members to make good decisions.

  • Supervisors and workers must share and communicate information collectively rather than just between individuals and the supervisor.

  • Supervisors must balance their role as leaders and decision makers with respecting the ideas of the team.
