Key Interest Areas
Creating Parenting-Rich Communities. Helping parents and the communities they live in create support systems to better meet the needs of children, this CWLA program is designed to develop resources, tools, and information parents and other leaders can use to assess their communities and bring about changes to improve the lives of children by supporting parents and caregivers. Growing Girls for Greatness. Focusing attention on the unique developmental needs of girls, and providing girls with opportunities to succeed. Learn more about CWLA's work in this area though its National Girls Initiative.
Supporting Positive Youth Development/Leadership. Helping teens and young adults develop leadership and other skills to help them be a positive force in the community. Learn more about CWLA's work in Positive Youth Development.
Protecting America's Children. Protecting children from harm, including those who have been hurt by abuse, neglect, and other forms of violence and are currently in foster care, available for adoption, or being served by one of the nearly 900 agencies associated with CWLA.
Crossing the Cultural Divide. Addressing disparities that affect vulnerable children across cultural, racial, and socioeconomic lines in the child welfare system. Learn more about CWLA's work in this area.
