Help Us Protect SSBG

The Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) is a vital source of support for your state ESPECIALLY for child welfare, domestic violence, elder abuse services, and other human services. Speaker Ryan has offered proposals to eliminate all $1.7 billion in human services funding.  See how your state spends its SSBG and who they serve in the 2014 Annual Report. Organizations in support of the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) are currently seeking additional signers to a letter urging Members of Congress to oppose cuts to SSBG. The letter is open to national and state organizations. Your organization may have already signed this last year (we have been keeping this open and updating Congress).  Sign up here.

Tell Us Your Story – Families USA

In an effort to collect stories on the impact of the ACA, Families USA is asking people to Tell Us Your Stories.  Families USA has been a leader on health care for more than two decades.  Currently they are working in a coalition to elevate people’s experiences in the media, with policymakers, and in our advocacy materials. Families USA will match participants with opportunities to share their stories publicly. Opportunities may include: requests from the media, policymakers, and advocates; use in our online efforts; and use in our policy briefs.  They will always ask permission before releasing any contact information or highlight your story.
