Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice: Improved Coordination and Integration: A Special Issue of CWLA's Child Welfare Journal
This special issue of Child Welfare addresses current issues in juvenile justice, particularly how various agencies are integrating child welfare services with juvenile justice to better serve youth. It describes an effort to reduce child abuse in Durham, North Carolina, by 50% within 10 years using a preventive system of care. Also, the issue illustrates the new work of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, which is merging child welfare and juvenile justice agencies by creating a common culture and new financial systems.
