Book Manuscript Submission Guidelines
Child & Family Press
CWLA is no longer accepting any submissions of general-interest children's or parenting books for Child & Family Press. We regret we are unable to review or return any such submissions.
CWLA Press
CWLA Press publishes books for child welfare administrators and frontline professionals in the child welfare field. We are seeking research-based, practice-oriented manuscripts on a variety of topics. We are no longer accepting memoirs on any topic.
- Requirements
To submit a manuscript or a proposal for consideration, please compile the following:
All abstracts, proposals, and manuscripts must be typed in a standard serif font such as Times New Roman, and double spaced, on 8.5 x 11 paper, with a minimum margin of 1 inch on all sides. (The Manuscript Submission Form may be handwritten.) All citations and bibliographic references should be as complete as possible. CWLA uses APA style.

Or via e-mail (MS Word attachments and PDF files only, please) to books@cwla.org. Please submit all queries regarding submissions via e-mail. We regret we cannot accept queries by phone.
Process and Response Time
CWLA's acquisitions editor does a first read on all manuscripts. Selected manuscripts are then subject to peer review, which may take 16-20 weeks. Based on the results of the peer reviewer reports, CWLA then makes its final selection for publication.
CWLA regrets it is unable to return any manuscripts. Please keep a copy of your work.
Simultaneous Submissions
CWLA accepts simultaneous submissions. If your manuscript is accepted by another publisher while it is being reviewed by CWLA, please contact us via e-mail with your name, manuscript title, and the approximate date of submission. We will withdraw your manuscript from consideration.
