CWLA Standards of Excellence for Services for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Pregnant Adolescents, and Young Parents
These standards replace the 1986 CWLA Standards for Services for Pregnant Adolescents and Young Parents. Alleviating the problems associated with the untimely bearing and rearing of children by adolescents requires a complex framework for service; the linkage of health care, education, counseling, employment, child welfare, and legal resources in the community; and the skills of a variety of professionals. These revised standards focus on services provided by social workers employed in nonprofit or public organizations serving families and children. The principles and practices described in these standards can be used to guide psychologists, nurses, social workers, paraprofessionals, and others. Contains recommended caseload standards.
