CWLA Standards of Excellence for the Management and Governance of Child Welfare Organizations
These standards supplement and expand upon the 1984 CWLA Standards for Organization and Administration for All Child Welfare Services. The standards were written to address the changes in the field of child welfare services caused by increased demand for services and decreased resources, which have led agencies to seek more efficient, businesslike management and leadership practices. Specifically, these standards examine core values of child welfare service organizations; their organizational establishment, governance, and administration; human resources; and business management, marketing, and resource development. The standards also provide a description of the National Society of Fund Raising Executives Code of Ethical Principles and Standards of Professional Practice.
