National Adoption Awareness Month Campaign
Public Service Announcements Cover Letter
Dear Public Service Director:
November is National Adoption Awareness Month. Across the country, tens of thousands of children and teens await their permanent family. Every bit as beautiful, complex, loving, and challenging as we all were as children, these kids share a difference and a stark reality - they don't have parents and homes to call their own.
We hope you and your radio station can play a role in helping to find homes for some of these children. We would like you to use the attached script as a public service announcement throughout the month of November. We regret we are unable to send pre-recorded audiotapes, but hope you will find the materials we have put together convenient and easy to use. Each PSA has a tag line for local contact information. Please note the attached list of state adoption directors.
We believe the message will encourage potential adoptive parents to take the first step, and hopefully inspire others to consider opening their homes and their hearts to a child.
CWLA has a long history of working on behalf of children and families in the adoption process. Established in 1920, the Child Welfare League of America is the nation's oldest and largest membership-based child welfare organization. Headquartered in Washington, DC, CWLA strives to advance sound public policy on behalf of the more than three million abused, neglected and vulnerable children served by its more than 1,185 public and private member agencies.
