Data Sources on Parents
Fathers
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Fatherhood Initiative has developed a special initiative to support and strengthen the roles of fathers in families. Research reports, program evaluations, and fact sheets on fatherhood activities are compiled on this website.
The National Fatherhood Initiative is designed to equip and develop leaders of national, state, and community fatherhood initiatives through curricula, training, and technical assistance. The organization engages every sector of society (policymakers, practitioners, etc.) through strategic alliances and partnerships. The website was created to educate and inspire people through public awareness campaigns, research, and other sources.
The National Center on Fathers and Families (NCOFF) was established in 1994 at the Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania with core support from the Annie E. Casey Foundation. An interdisciplinary policy research center, NCOFF is dedicated to research and practice that expands the knowledge base on father involvement and family development, and that informs policy designed to improve the well-being of children.
