Is there a worker in your agency who others look up to? Someone who is eager to learn more and become even more effective? If so, you should know that CWLA is now accepting applications from member agencies for the 2004 Freddie Mac Foundation David S. Liederman Scholarship Awards.
Recognize your most outstanding staff members by nominating them for the 2004 Freddie Mac Scholarship Program. This decade-old program provides financial support so individuals working in CWLA's member agencies can attend graduate school.
Help us identify child welfare leaders and ensure that the best and the brightest within our field receive the training and support they need to protect and enrich the lives of children and families.
This year, recognizing the rising cost of tuition, the amount of the awards will be increased from $10,000 to $12,000.
Each of the outstanding employees selected for these awards will receive $7,000 from the Freddie Mac Foundation and $5,000 from their own agency to pursue graduate work at the master's level. And for the first time, candidates pursuing relevant degrees other than MSWs will also be eligible.
Nominees must have worked in a CWLA member agency for at least two years and return to the agency after completing their graduate studies. Winners will be selected from each of CWLA's member regions. Materials must be submitted by December 5, 2003.
