CWLA is pleased to announce Competence On Call, a new teleconference series that provides a forum to consider critical child welfare issues, disseminate research findings, and inform the field about innovative policy and practice initiatives. Building on our Research to Practice Initiative (R2P), each teleconference will include presentations by national experts along with reports from agencies engaged in challenging and groundbreaking work. Participants will be provided with extensive, practical resources to use as references both during and after the teleconference.
The 2003 Spring Teleconference Series includes:
May 20
- Retaining the Best and Brightest Employees: Lessons from Research and Practice
June 10
- Increasing Your Agency's Capacity in Challenging Times: Utilizing the Gifts of Seniors
July 24
- Understanding Child Maltreatment and Juvenile Delinquency: Toward a More Coordinated Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice System
All programs will be held from 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. EDT. The registration fee for each program is $195 for CWLA members, $245 for nonmembers. Those registering for all three teleconferences will receive an additional 10% discount. The registration fee includes one telephone line. The only limit to the number of employees that can participate is the size of the room where they will gather. Smaller agencies may wish to invite other agencies to join them at their site and share the cost of registration.
