CWLA provides its members with information in dozens of ways, from internet resources to legislative alerts and more, but the most visible work in this area is done with the help of our Publications department, which uses a number of tools to disseminate information:

Periodicals. Children's Voice magazine; the professional peer-reviewed journal, Child Welfare; our online membership newsletter, the National Networker; the public policy bulletin, Children's Monitor; and other newsletters provide regular information on children and families and the services and policies that affect their lives. Members receive one subscription to Child Welfare and five subscriptions to Children's Voice free each year as a benefit of membership, and may purchase additional Voice subscriptions at a 50% discount. Selected Voice articles and many of the League's other periodicals are available online free of charge. Only members have access to the National Networker.

Books. CWLA is the world's oldest and largest publisher of child welfare professional literature, including such recent titles as Long-Term Trends in the Well-Being of Children and Youth; ADD, Not BAD; and many others. The League also offers a growing list of children's and parenting literature. Full members automatically receive one copy of all recently published books sent out every six months. All other membership categories receive a listing of these materials twice a year and may request them individually and receive them free.

If you're not yet taking advantage of these rich resources, our Publications Staff would love to help you. For more information about our books, e-mail books@cwla.org, for more information on the Child Welfare Journal, e-mail journal@cwla.org, and for information about Children's Voice, e-mail voice@cwla.org.
