Subject: Regional Office Support
When many people think about the Child Welfare League, they envision our Washington, DC, offices, in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol. But our members know that some of our most important work is done in their backyards-in our regional offices, where we provide access to national resources and offer a wide variety of services on a local level.
CWLA regional offices provide members with access to the League, its services, member benefits, and other members. The activities of regional office personnel generally include local initiatives; public policy; leadership development and training; member-to-member networking; regionally sponsored steering committees, affinity groups, and cluster meetings; open houses; member and potential member receptions; and frequent member contact. The regional offices act as a conduit to the field, offering input and also soliciting input-allowing members to guide CWLA's activities, standards, policies, and advocacy nationally.
CWLA's six regions and their office locations are:
- Mid-Atlantic: Baltimore, MD, and New York, NY
- Mid-West: Chicago, IL
- New England: Quincy, MA
- Mountain/Plains: Denver, CO
- Western: Los Angeles, CA
- Southern: Reston, VA, and Long Beach, MS
If you are not already familiar with the activities and personnel in your region visit CWLA's member-only website, or www.cwla.org/members/regionaloffices.asp. The members-only site also features issues of the National Networker, which details the activities in each of the six regions, connecting agencies at every level.
