The Charles County Department of Social Services, located in LaPlata, has a staff of approximately ¬¬¬116 and a $41 million operating budget. Charles County is a progressive county with a population of approximately 150,000 and a median household income of $89,000. LaPlata is located within 30 minutes from Washington, D.C., 60 minutes from Annapolis, and approximately 90 minutes from Baltimore and Richmond. Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field and at least five years of professional employment in social services administration or supervision.
