BOARD OF CHILD CARE
JOB TITLE: Director of Training, Recruitment and Retention POSITION RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Human Resources CATEGORY OF EMPLOYMENT: Salaried/Exempt
PURPOSE OF JOB: To develop and implement training and development programs for the entire agency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR OBJECTIVES: • Formulate and implement a strategy for enlisting agency-wide support for training initiatives that support The Board of Child Care’s mission, vision, values, philosophy, and principles of practice. • Ensure all staff meet training requirements of licensing bodies and accrediting agencies. • Create needs assessment procedures and work with supervisors and department heads to implement the process. • Select and monitor internal and external trainers and vendors to deliver training programs and services. • Work with departments to develop and control training plans and budgets. • Conduct an annual staff training survey aimed at evaluating the training department’s effectiveness and efficiency in achieving its purposes and goals and complete a summary report for management staff. • Work with department heads and supervisors to track results and impact of training. • Coordinate outside vendors and other group’s use of the conference center. • Perform other duties, as requested, to achieve agency goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintenance of an unrestricted driver’s license and safe driving record. Flexible work hours to include occasional evenings or weekends, on site and off site attendance at meetings.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR POSITION • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both written and orally. • Ability to work well in a non-structured environment • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and database management • Strong organizational skills • Ability to develop sufficient understanding of agency functioning and goals in order to develop appropriate priorities. • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
MINIMUM ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE • Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and 1 year of training experience
