Provide leadership, specialized technical expertise and clinical supervision to staff members working on geographic teams and within the central office of the St. Mary’s County Department of Social Services with the responsibility in Child, Family and Adult welfare programs. Coach and facilitate work of staff to enable high performance and develop employee empowerment. Oversee the daily operations of these programs; train staff and to ensure that the Department meets or exceeds the performance measure goals for these programs. Serve as a Departmental representative in the community, working with customers, other agencies and partners for the purpose of ensuring complete program effectiveness and providing overall community support. Participate in the management activity of the Department so that SMCDSS continues to respond to and anticipate the needs of its customers.
Minimum requirements: Master of Social Work degree, licensed as a certified social worker-clinical (LCSW-C) by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to social work supervisor positions in State service, and 3 years experience in child welfare or adult services to vulnerable children, individuals or families. Must have supervisory experience, strong planning, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. FT, benefits, salary range $43,725-$69,999. Position open until filled.
