Valentino's of America
Valentino's of America, the franchiser of more than 40 Valentino's pizza parlors, received CWLA's Corporate Friend of Children Award in 2003. Valentino's was nominated by Cedars Youth Services, a CWLA member agency in Lincoln, Nebraska, for its outstanding long-time partnership with the organization. Valentino's provides an annual holiday meal buffet at each of the shelters and group homes, ensures that every child in care receives a special gift from a wish list during the holidays, and sponsors an annual Big Cheese Day, a fundraiser that raises community awareness of Cedars's work. In addition, Valentino's raises approximately $200 per month for Cedars by strategically placing donation boxes in all of its restaurants. Anthony Messino, President of Valentino's of America, was present at CWLA's 2003 National Conference to accept this award.
