2003 Corporate Advocate of the Year
Prudential Financial
Prudential Financial was recognized as CWLA's Corporate Advocate of the Year in 2003. With its support for numerous programs at the local level, and national efforts in behalf of children, Prudential was truly deserving of the year's only Corporate Advocate of the Year Award.
For the past six years, The Prudential Foundation has partnered with CWLA to create the Prudential Positive Parenting Program, allowing CWLA to deliver a parenting education curriculum, at no cost, to more than 25,000 child care, Head Start, and other early childhood programs. The Prudential Foundation's commitment has also helped CWLA train more than 2,000 parent educators. In 2003, Prudential announced a three-year commitment to CWLA's new Creating Parenting-Rich Communities initiative, designed to give parents and community leaders the information, resources, and tools to promote change that improves the lives of children by supporting parents and caregivers. Prudential has also helped local communities and supported CWLA initiatives, including our work in behalf of children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS, and for cultural competence training.
"Prudential and its employees share a longstanding commitment to making a difference in the communities where we live and work, through both volunteerism and grants," said Gabriella Morris, Vice President of Prudential Financial's Community Resources Department and Prudential Foundation CEO.
Prudential's charitable arm, The Prudential Foundation, supports a variety of nonprofit programs benefiting local communities across the United States and beyond.
