Continuous Quality Improvement
Over the past decade, the need for better and more accurate information
concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of services has increased dramatically
due to a number of factors, including the insistence of national
accrediting organizations that agencies meet best practice standards for
quality improvement activities and outcomes management. Examples of
national accrediting organizations are the Council on Accreditation for
Children and Family Services (COA) and the Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
To assist organizations with the creation and implementation of continuous
quality assurance programs, NCFC provides an array of training and technical
assistance that includes assisting organizations in assessing all related continuous
quality improvement elements, including:
- management information system needs and design,
- development and implementation of comprehensive quality improvement processes, and
- outcomes management strategies.
NCFC consultants work with program staff to develop tools and protocols for
service outcome effectiveness, stakeholder participation, long- and shortterm
strategic planning, reviews of client case records, risk management
reviews, stakeholder satisfaction surveys, corrective actions plans, as well as
provide training in all areas of continuous quality improvement to help stakeholders
understand, manage, and incorporate quality improvement tools and
approaches.
