Managed Care Consultation and Technical Assistance
Through the Systems Integration Management Institute, NCFC provides
training, consultation, and technical support services to prepare and assist
agencies that are transitioning to a system of care that incorporates managed
care practices. NCFC has the capacity to train agency leadership and staff in
the basic principles, trends, and issues of operating a child welfare program
in a changing environment. NCFC provides practical support while an agency
transitions to a risk-based system of care and ensures contractual agreements
between public and private agencies are well-designed and supported. NCFC
consultation supports an agency's preparations and ensures the necessary
elements are in place to implement and successfully manage child welfare
programs in a managed care environment.
Agencies that are not operating in risk-based managed care systems can also
benefit from incorporating the tools and individual business practices NCFC
offers to improve efficiency. NCFC consultants ensure organizations are
adequately prepared to compete and perform in an ever-changing business arena.
Managed care consultation and technical assistance areas include:
- operating as or working with an administrative service organization (ASO),
- rate setting,
- establishing risk corridors,
- performance-based contracting,
- management information systems,
- strategic alliances, and
- lead agency, subcontracting, and public agency models.
