Special Forum - Keeping Our Children Safe: Lessons for Nonprofits from Across the Nation
Please plan to join CWLA, First Nonprofit, and the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations for a one-of-a-kind session that will feature a panel of national, state, and local experts who understand the safety needs of children as well as the organizational behaviors that can foster or impede a culture of safety. This forward-looking forum will help you consider the policies, programs, and practices that keep children safe. The panelists will draw on the lessons and implications from tragedies at Penn State and other organizations that work with youth. Following the presentations there will be an open forum in which participants will have an opportunity to share concerns and perspective on the role of organizations in protecting children from harm. Panelists include: Bob Arends, Vice President Risk Management, First Nonprofit; Tina Phillips, Director of Training, Pennsylvania Family Support Alliance; Beverly Mackereth, Deputy Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, Office of Children, Youth & Families; Linda Spears, Vice President of Policy & Public Affairs, CWLA; and Christine James-Brown, President & CEO, CWLA (Moderator).
