Child Welfare League of America

Networking Roundtables

New this year! Conference attendees who are not making visits to the Hill will be provided an opportunity to talk with peers, sharing experiences around specific topics or areas of interest. Six rooms are available for these networking roundtables. A member agency representative and a CWLA staff member will cofacilitate each discussion. Notes will be taken at each roundtable, which will be compiled and distributed so the richness of the dialogue is captured and shared. Any identified areas of need will guide the League's future work. We want this to be a meaningful experience for you, so you will help chose the six topics. When you fill out your registration form, pick six of the eight topics suggested below that you think are most relevant, and the top six overall will appear in the final brochure you will receive at the conference. The suggested topics are:
  1. Practice issues for specific populations (such as older adolescents and innovative approaches for fostering their move to independence and working with the Latino population)

  2. Evidence-based treatment modalities (challenges of implementing them and how to make them work, e.g., multi-dimensional treatment foster care)

  3. Privatization (what agencies are doing and how they are making it work)

  4. Successful funding to sustain evidence-based practices and programs beyond their start-up

  5. Challenges of working with children and youth involved with the juvenile justice and child welfare systems

  6. Grant writing
