Don't Balance the Budget on the Backs of Children

As a part of our ongoing These Cuts Won't Heal Campaign, CWLA has launched a petition on our Causes.Com page to ask President Obama and Speaker Boehner to hold children harmless in the deficit reduction negotiations. Add your voice by signing the petition today: http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless.

After you sign, share the petition with your friends, family, staff, colleagues, and professional networks today. Below are some sample tweets and Facebook posts to help you spread the word.

Our leaders must hold children and their families harmless in deficit reduction negotiations. What good is a sound fiscal future if our children are not prepared to take it over? http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless

Children did not create the deficit, and so they should not be impacted by plans to balance the budget. Sign this petition asking our President Obama and Speaker Boehner to take children and their families off the table. http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless

If we've given our children a strong and safe foundation, then they will come together to work out their differences. They won't all agree on everything, but they will trust the process of our forefathers and press on to protect their own future: their children. Ask President Obama and Speaker Boehner to protect our children during deficit reduction. http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless

CWLA's Linda Spears signed because, "The days and weeks ahead are a critical time to ensure that this nation maintains basic services to protect children and strengthen families. I hope you will join this campaign to help children get what they need!" Will you join us? http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless

As conversations between President Obama and Congress continue, let's make it known that our voice on behalf of vulnerable children will only grow louder. Add your voice by signing the petition today: http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless

I signed the petition to urge our leaders to ensure vulnerable children and families are not harmed as a result of the budget negotiations. Join me in opposing any efforts to further reduce funding in safety net programs during the budget negotiations. Sign and share today http://bit.ly/HoldChildrenHarmless
