Notes
- The FY 2005 budget included an across the board reduction of 0.0080% to all discretionary programs, projects, and activities-exempting Defense, Homeland Security, Military Construction funds and veterans. The final numbers for FY 2005 reflects this cut.
- This program is not affected by the FY 2005 across the board cut.
- Because this is an entitlement program, its annual funding is automatically set at the level required to fund the services authorized for eligible persons. Statutory changes in eligibility or benefit levels, as well as changes in the number of eligible persons participating, affect federal outlays.
- Requires a reauthorization. Currently, Congress has extended this funding in three to six month intervals. The current extension runs until March 31, 2005.
- This is a capped entitlement program and the annual funding is automatically fixed by law.
- Funding is included in the overall appropriations for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Injury Control and Prevention Center but is generally specified in the final appropriations document.
- Funds from this program are drawn from the overall appropriations for Section 8 low-income rental assistance.
